How can I upload video on self-host LimeSurvey?

I have install the LimeSurvey on my NAS, I can run the app and design the survey. In my Survey I have to use a video as a stimuli, but I find that the upload function does't work. 
Is that a bug?
Can anybody help for this issue?

Mostly it's a bug in the version of Limesurvey offered by the NAS App repositories.
These are often not uptodate. The NAS vendors are in control of what they offer. They try to offload the support requests to this forum here. But no NAS vendor is officially supported in this forum, cause it's not a version downloaded from here.

I installed the LimeSurvey by downloading the latest version. I didn't use the docker. So I think it's just like the LS installed on the host.

But the problem remain.

Please do not post more than once! This causes unnecessary work in the forum.
In this post "free random number" posted also the exact version (which is important because what is 'the latest' today, might not be the latest tomorrow).

  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

For better understanding my version is 5.1.11+210920.

Thanks all for the great job of LS, only issue left for me is upload function with KCfinder.

So, what is the OS, PHP Version and database version used on your host? Most of the people here install LimeSurvey on a generic OS Distirbution (Ubuntu,Debian,CentOS, Windows etc.). A NAS comes with a modified and optimized OS with certain permissons and users which are not common.  Issues around KCFinder are not uncommon. Report your issue in the bugtracker with as much information as possible. Since none of the developers and only a few users are using a NAS to host LimeSurvey the chances are low that the issue can be reproduced.

Hi Jelo,
Here is my equipment: Synology DSM7, I think it's a linux-base OS, Apache , MySQL MariaDB 10;
I use a Macbook Pro 2018, macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, Chrome Version 93.0.4577.82 (Official Build) (x86_64).
Issue: The KCfinder window for video, image can pop up, but nothing works then. None of the button has a feedback when I press them.

If self hosted, why not simply upload the video directly via FTP?

The default NAS video sharing method is not working in LS, and I have a teamwork flow, best to use LS only in one platform, and that's why we choose LS originally.

If developers can not reproduce the issue, it is almost impossible to fix it.

Your environment is quite "special" and I doubt that anyone else here has the same setup to check.

For better understanding my version is 5.1.11+210920.

Are you still on this version or have you updated in the meanwhile? If not, I would suggest to update to the latest version and see if you can reproduce. It does not make sense to discuss potential bugs on a version that has received 7 updates by now (currently we are at 5.1.18).

If they problem persists on the most recent install, please answer the questions you received from Denis.
