Delphi - Plugin use was created by boshra.m
[LimeSurvey Cloud Version 5.2.13]

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am Research Assistant in Canada and I have been trying to follow the steps from this forum thread posted on Sep 07 2021. I am attempting to use a Delphi approach where (as asked by the forum), the participants will be able to see their responses and the groups (median/mode) responses after the first round of survey.

I am having specific trouble with actually opening up the plugin and putting it into use once I download the zip file. I have tried to search other forums, videos, etc. I just cant seem to figure it out. Is it absolutely necessary to install LimeSurvey on a local server or can I use the plugin using the Web Limesurvey.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this!

Thank you so much.

Limesurvey is a web application, so basically all installations of Limesurvey, whether on your own server or hosted by a third party (Limesurvey GmbH, University installation, etc.) are "web limesurveys".

Now on your own server you should be able to install the plugin by uploading it into the correct folder.

If you use a installation that is hosted by someone else and you have no access to the server, you will need to get in touch with the person responsible for this installation.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

What "specific trouble"?
  • You download the '.zip
  • You extract it
  • You have a folder called "updateTokenByResponse-master"
This is a bit confusing as the file is called "updateTokenByResponse.php" and the folder must have the same name.
Therefore
  • Rename the folder to "updateTokenByResponse"
  • Upload it to the "plugin" directory of the LimeSurvey installation.
These are the steps.
But - as @holch - if you have no access to the server, you have to ask the person responsible.

Hi,

So what you said about uploading the plugin into the correct folder is what I am confused about.

Sorry, I am new to this so I do have some gaps in my knowledge about LimeSurvey.

Thank you

Hello,

When you say "Upload it to the "plugin" directory of the LimeSurvey installation", what do you mean by this? How do I go about doing this?

Thank you so much.

When you say "Upload it to the "plugin" directory of the LimeSurvey installation", what do you mean by this?

Two bad news.
Now I saw that you wrote "LimeSurvey Cloud version".
This means it is hosted by LimeSurvey GmbH, or?
Here you are not allowed to install plugins.

Bad luck, but if it's any consolation to you :This plugin is not compatible with 5.x. anyway

Hello,

Yes it is being hosted by GmbH.

Ah okay. Well, thank you anyhow!

I saw that in the thread I previously referred to, you mentioned that it can be done without the plugin. I have tried this but it is not working.
Do you think that method could work with the LimeSurvey Cloud Version 5.2.13? Perhaps I am missing a step.

What I did was:
  1. created additional attributes
  2. Allowed the first round of the survey to commence
  3. downloaded the participants table
  4. added the values into the additional attribute columns (CVS file)
  5. deleted the original participants table
  6. uploaded this new participant table
  7. updated the participants table by turning the "completed" header to No and adding 1 to the "uses left"

Thank you for all of your help thus far.

Why do you not insert the link to the thread you are talking about?
You only link the search parameters
Have a look:

This should work.
Exported the responses to Excel and the participants table
Opened both in Excel.
Copied the values from the responses to the attributes in the participants table

Inserted the median by a formula and copied the values into all rows

Saved as *.csv

Removed the "old" participants from the table and uploaded the csv file.

If there are still problems, send a lss export of a sample survey

Hello,

I think my issue is that I am using a likert form of question and for each row I need to input a different mode and their response. So when I was looking at the previous thread, there was a way to add "subquestions" and make it so that each row is able to show the participants response and the mean.  Is this doable without the plugin?

My question:

Example in the thread:

I hope I am being clear.

Thank you
