Hi folks!

I've installed V2 RC2 in the same corporate VM where is V1.92, as second instance.
The V2 is very very slow to respond to any command, sometimes a timeout is produced. So after going thru FAQ's, tried "Warning: fread() function.fread: Length parameter must be greater than 0" the problem is the same. I've tried a second installation with the same result.
V1.92 is working fine with PHP 5.2.13 + MySQL 5.1.23-rc.
Any hint? Please?

Does everything run very slow or just the admin interface or just a certain survey?

Everything, from the very start, is slow. I've not create a survey because it takes ages to show anything. Last time, while doing other stuff, I've got the first "save" quetion and the page freezed.
It's odd, because v1.92 is performing nice.

There has been a new RC4 version, please test that one: www.limesurvey.org/en/unstable-release/v...26-unstable-releases

I'll give it a try and post the results asap.

I upgrate the version 1.90 to version 2RC4.
It's working well but all is very slow (very very slow)...

Maybe this is server related, I noticed no problems on my local system. Maybe you can post some details like:
- PHP version
- DB version
- server OS
- webserver and version
- available server memory (memory_limit)

Hi i have the same Problem

my brand new installation of limesurvey200RC4-build120622 working very slowly.

I have the following System in use

- Debian Lenny 5.0.3
- mysql-server-5.0 (5.0.51a-24+lenny2+spu1)
- MySQL module for php5 - php5-mysql (5.2.6.dfsg.1-1+lenny16)
- apache2 (2.2.9-10+lenny4)

I have no errors.

We’ve been trying to solve this issue using all know-how available.

Last development:
LS2 RC9 installed from scratch on a new VM (similar to the one with LS1.92) with Apache, PHP 5.3.16 and MySQL.Minimum Requirements checked OK as well all Optional modules.

Once again it is very very slow doing anything even login!

Runs here like a charm on a xampp installation on my notebook.

Why don't you try it on the same VM-Ware as 1.92 to compare? The two installations can run perfectly fine in parallel, as long as you use different databases.

Sorry! Forget about my post. I only just saw that there was a previous page and you actually had done this before already.

No problem! We've tried the LS2RC9 with the same VM with LS1.9, after that we installed a new VM from scratch with stable releases of base sw. The rational was: the first VM was been upgraded year after year and could have old stuff blocking.
I must say we are using VM's from our cloud infraestructure (corporate IT privilegies ) so performance isn't an issue.

Have you checked if there's any egress/ingress filtering between your server and limeservice.com?
When investigating similar issues on one of our setups I noticed dropped outbound HTTP packages to limeservice.com. After I addressed this it was reported to work a lot better.
