Array Qestions was created by southcot
I'm trying to set one of these up and I can't see anywhere to edit/create the labels. Is there a tutorial I can access?

Hi,

As far as I know the manual was based on the older version of LS ( www.limesurvey.org/manual/Question_type_-_Array ). If you use LS 2.5 you can access the answer options by pressing: Survey > List questions > Qustion summary (icon on the right of the question) > Edit answer option (button on top).

Cheers

Sorry @jelo, my bad: Version 2.51.1+160901

Thanks @elisa: I'm there but I can see how to add the labels and the question doesn't preview.

You write "can see"? You see them? Or was that a mistype?
If yes, I gave you a link which shows you the way to add label sets.

@jelo sorry it was a typo.

I have found the management area for the label sets. Perhaps I'm not explaining myself properly. Take this question I created before I upgraded:-

In edit mode I get this:-

I can't for the life of me see where I can add/edit the text "1 means didn't like it and 10 means great venue"

I see.

Please choose Array as question type (which allows you to define answers).
Enter a questioncode and save the question.
You'll find subquestions and answer options buttons at the top.

Use answer options to enter something different from 1 to 10 or choose from the label sets predefined.

Thanks

If you look at the screen shot above:-

... I don't have all those options. Where do find them?

You have not chosen the Array question type. Your 10 point Array is coming with a predefined answer set.
Please read my post again and follow the instructions.
In your screenshot you should click save and look at the top. For the 10 point array you should have at least a sub-question button.

It's not true that I didn't read your question. Whether I change the first question to array:-

... or create a band new array question those options aren't there:-

Maybe you may try this: Survey > List questions > Qustion summary (icon on the right of the question) > Edit answer option (button on top).

OK from the question summary I can now see those options. Thanks @eliasa.

It's been a bit of a tortuous road but I'm there now! Not very intuitive thought that those options are available from the summary but not the edit question windows?

Yes, that is true. Not very intuitive. One reason I still not use LS 2.5 but stay with LS 2.06 LTS.
Are the answer button now visible when you get to a question? Or only via summary? I have used the demo on limesurvey.org to make the screenshots. You might check if the demo behaves different from your installation. There might be a bug too.

As an occasional user I just updated to the latest "stable" version. As to you questions:-

1. No the options are not available in the question edit window only on the summary

2. This is the same on the demo:-
demo.limesurvey.org/index.php?r=admin/qu...43511/gid/57/qid/263

I'll post it as a feature request.
