By the way the reason that I used .text() in the workaround (and question theme) was to avoid problems with HTML changes in future versions.

Sorry, I have one last question :side:
After a word was presented in the center and one key was pressed (key type and reactiontime noted), is there a way that the next word will only appear if the correct key is pressed at some point? So you have to match the right corner& key before the next word appears.
Is there a way to put a condition for matching key and subquestion?

That would require a significant rewrite of the iatShowWord() function.

How would you define which key is correct for each item (sub-question)?

Yes that's the problem.. Thought of somthing like only showing the next word with the combination of key and subquestionvariable with a if condition. I'm very new to Javascript and thought there might be an easy way I I might overlook. But not too bad, I am also happy without this function.
