==================
Hi everyone
In a List (radio) question I want to show only selected sub-questions from a Multiple choice question.

In the attached LSS I ask whether respondents are facing challenges and, if so, within which time frame (Multiple choice, code M1). Respondents who see challenges within a certain time frame receive a follow-up question (code M3a) where they are asked to describe the challenges within the time frame they selected. This works in attached LSS.

Respondents who see challenges within several time frames are first asked to choose the time frame where the challenges are greatest (List (radio), code M2), and then to describe the challenges they see (code M3b).

My problem: In M2, I only want to display response options for the time frames that the respondent selected in M1. How do I do that?

I would be grateful for some guidance.

Best regards
Jonas

This is pretty standard. Look for "array filter".

The first question and the second question need to have exactly the same codes for the answer options / subquestions for the array filter to work.

Then you just need to put the question code of the first question (the source for the filtering) into the "array filter" section of the second question (which will be filtered based on the answers to the first question) and you should be good to go. In the second only the subquestions that have been checked in the first question should appear as answer options.

There is also an "array filter exclude" which does basically the opposite: show only those options that have not been chosen in the first question.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
