I'd submit time ago the same request but not solved my troubles: here the question

My problem how to change colors interface for an extended theme basaed on boorstrap/Flatly.

I'd changed the theme as desidered using Bootstrap Live customizer and also getbootstrap.

In the First case I have: the files: 
_variables.scss, bootstrap.css, bootstrap.min.css, custom.sass, theme.css, theme.less, theme.min.css, variables.less

In the second case I have downloaded the related files:
config.json, bootstrap.css, bootstrap.min.css, bootstrap-theme.css, bootstrap-theme.min.css, glyphicons-halflings-regular.eot, glyphicons-halflings-regular.svg, glyphicons-halflings-regular.ttf, glyphicons-halflings-regular.woff, glyphicons-halflings-regular.woff2,bootstrap.js and bootstrap.min.js

Now my problem is how to apply these files for customizing in Lime survey the standard theme?

I have not sophisticated needs, only change some colors of the theme.

Can someone help me to find the way?

tpartner's answer is still valid.

Examine with the webdevelopment tool of your browser to find the affected classes.
Overwrite in your "custom.css"

Here a small example:
1. bootswatch plain
 
2. bootswatch "United"
 
3. Some adaptions of color, fonts (only css)

Else, for bigger improvment (and you know less) : all bootswatch theme are included in SkelVanilla
And you can use less-skelvanilla generator to make your own variation.

thanks first for your support.

I try with success changhing theme.css and using custom.css for the bootstrap theme. More difficult, or not so easy like the bootstrap take change to vanilla and fruity themes.

I'd study skelVanilla to improve my knowledge and more ability to change themes.

Here another questions/curiosity: there is a part in the manual " Theme option " that talk about "Advanced option". Have some ideas why this option in not present in my Lime interface/version? I have admin permissions ...
