Hello,
I would like your support. I prepared a survey for research purposes and I wanted to safeguard its results from biases. I was wondering whether there is any way to terminate the survey and not save answers (or if not possible save answers on a different database) in the case somebody tries to submit answers before lets say 10 minutes as some kind of a safeguard to avoid fictitious entries.

Please let me know if you need any additional information and/or clarifications.

Thanking you in advance.

in the case somebody tries to submit answers before lets say 10 minutes

That is, you want to screen out "speeders"?
You can do this by setting the time at the start by an equation, then again near the end.
Calculate the difference.
If this is below a certain value you may screen out these people by a quota.

If you want to do something else, please explain.

Hello Joffm,
Thank you for your prompt response. Yes, this is what I have in mind, to leave out the "speeders". Could you please help me to formulate this? Kindly note that I am not very familiar with the limesurvey yet.

Again, many thanks.

And to add something, if you only want to screen out the speeders instead of two different end-urls
Add a new equation (eqSpeed)with
{if(elapsedTime < 120, 1, 2)}
Set a quota with limit "0" on the value "1"

Best time to read the manual.

Hi Joffm and Tony,

Good Afternoon,
Kindly note that it worked perfectly with the quota. Thanks to both of you, I really appreciate your support.

Is there a way to save only the relevant functions/parts of the survey for the lss file you requested Joffm. I use the online version of Limesurvey and it says by exporting to lss it will save the whole survey structure. Given it is for academic purposes I cannot share the entire structure unfortunately. Could you please assist me?

Also, I would like to ask you something different from the initial request please. Although I initially performed this with a quota to terminate the survey. I decided to remove the quota and store the variable instead (eqSpeed) because I may find any interesting relationships in the results. I found online that if you use a hidden equation, the variable created is still stored in the database. Is this correct? I am not very sure as the survey created is anonymous to avoid personal data - GDPR breaches and it states something about not having access to timing data.

Again many thanks for your valuable support,

Kind Regards,
Xenia

by exporting to lss it will save the whole survey structure

And exactly this is what we need.
To explain:
1. Only the lss (LimeSurvey survey) contains also the survey wide settings, which are very important sometimes.
2. lsg (LimeSurvey group) and lsq (LimeSurvey question) exports are language sensitive.
You can't import an export with base language "french" into a survey with base language "italian". Even "spanish" and "spanish(Argentina)" will fail.
Meaning: To help you we have to create a new survey, hopefully with the same base language as the export file to be able to import this. This is unnecessary work for us volunteers.

Is there a way to save only the relevant functions/parts of the survey for the lss file you requested

And as we never want to look through 274 questions  to get to the crucial one we only ask for the relevant questions
And you may change the text or whatever.

To do this, you just copy the survey, remove everything not needed of this copy and then you send it as lss.

I am not very sure as the survey created is anonymous to avoid personal data

These questions you shouldn't ask, but try.
Activate the survey, enter some well defined data (not happy clicking) and have a look at the answer table.
You will see that there is a column for all equations containing their value.

To analyse differences - if there are some - you can use the variable "elapsedTime".
