Save-button under Survey Settings does not work

Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: 5.3.31+220815
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Own
Survey theme/template: fruity

Hello,

I updated today from 5.3.23+220705 to 5.3.31+220815.
Unfortunately, now the save-button in all of the survey settings sub-menus (General settings, Text elements etc.) does not seem to work anymore, i.e. when I click the button, changes are not saved.

I tried different browsers and also used a dummy-account but with no success.

I would greatly appreciate any kind of help.

Hmmm, I am not going to update to test this just to find out it is reproducible. ;-)

I guess you just "won" a bug report: bugs.limesurvey.org/

We are using versión 5.6.26+230613 and have the same problem.

SAVE button does nothing in terms of feed-back (cursor does not change) until you click in other menu option. Then it seems start to work and takes a lot of time until changes in Survey Settings are saved.

Any idea about how to fix this?

Haven't heard this issue from anyone else, so this might be something in this very specific version, or a specific issue of your installation.

As your LS 5.6.26+230613 is not the latest, before I would do anything else I would first update to the latest version which currently is LS5.6.28+230627 and see if the problem persists.

thanks for your answer.

I'm afraid it's not a Limesurvey version issue. It already happened with the previous version (5.3.) and it happens with 5.6 after updating with ComfortUpdate.

Moreover, it happens both on the development server (AWS) and on the production server (at a local hosting provider). It was happening with PHP 8 and is happening now with PHP 7.4 after downgrading.

It's bad news that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Well, it was worth a shot. But it is strange that it is happening for you for such a long time already and persists over different versions. I am quite sure we would have heard about this in the forum if this would be a "normal bug". My suspicion is that it is something very specific for your installation. Of course this makes it very difficult to hunt down. So we must try to circle the issue.

So just to be clear: This happens with ALL save buttons in the Limesurvey backend?

I assume you have tried with different browsers, different OS, with all plugins disabled, etc, right?

It happens with all SAVE buttons in the Survey Config menu. it takes 1:50 aprox. to save changes in the production server.
In the Survey menu, the options that have SAVE buttons (Reorder and eMail Templates) work fine.

Of course, we tried different browsers, different devices even different servers (development server takes 4:20 minutes).
