Hello all,
Yesterday I sent out survey invitations to 80 recipients. Today I hear that people received an email with empty subject and nothing in the body. In this case, I have added 2 attachments. They did arrive.
I have tested the invitation on myself first before sendding it out to the 80 recipients. It went fine. After the problem, I ran a couple of tests. With 2 recipients, I believe it was fine. When I sent it to one of the 80 recipients only, the email looked fine. It's alsmost as if there is an issue when you send invitations in batch. Possibly only when you have attachments, I have yet to verify that.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
I checked the bottom of the page for the version;
LimeSurvey
Version 4.3.10+200812
I hope that's the latest one because I am not sure how to update it well without the auto updater, which I don't have.
Regards,
Philip.

I have found out what the problem was. It was not related to attachments or the email system. It was related to a batch import of participants through CSV.
The import I did was something like this;

firstname;lastname;language
Philip;Lafeber;English

It was imported without a hitch. In the Participants overview, under language, it said "English".
Only when I noticed that my test participant, set up manually, had "en" under language did I realise the system could not determine the language to select when sending out the invitations. By batch editing them all and changing it to the drop-down value "English" was it displayed in the Participants table as "en" and the invitations came out ok.
I think this means that an additional feature is needed in the import feature; validate the contents of the language column and either reject incorrect input or keep the language setting empty for every line in the import file containing unexpected values. Can anyone help to deliver this as input for development please?

As a first step you could update the manual.
At the moment there is:

Language: You can select here the default language of the survey for the respective participant;

manual.limesurvey.org/Survey_participant...ants_from_a_CSV_file
It should be sufficient to mention that the "language code" has to be entered.

I recommend to submit that as bug report via the bugtracker.
