We just took out a ComfortUpdate subscription specifically to be able to add the 2FA plugin to our on-site installation.
I guess we should have done more research first though as it looks like it doesn't work with the LDAP plugin enabled as the two plugins conflict for control of the login screen.

Some say that the solution is to have the 2FA on a second screen post LDAP auth. Sounds good but we're not developing on LimeSurvey only using it.
Would welcome any advice.

I recommend to add your comment to the bugticket.
You might open a support ticket as well and ask LimeSurvey GmbH if they have an internal solution for that issue.

But when I look at the tickets bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=17434 and see the low volume of posts about that topic, I don't see any quick solution. You might consider sponsoring that feature or hire a developer.
