I have tried to install Limesurvey on XAMPP but https://localhost/ and https://localhost/index.php?r=admin both return blank pages
I followed the instructions here

I installed limesurvey205plus-build140703-on-xampp-win32-setup.exe
During installation there is a DOS box which starts with Mysql is starting, then, LimeSurvey is getting installed.
After this there is a PHP error but the DOS box closes before I can read it.
The XAMPP Control Panel cannot start the Apache service (it can start Mysql) until I reboot.
Before and after reboot https://localhost/ and https://localhost/index.php?r=admin return blank pages on Firefox 30.0 and Chrome 23.0.1271.97
