Hi everyone, I have arrived at the LimeSurvey community and am new to it, and I have just been looking into creating questionnaires and surveys using LimeSurvey. Currently I am in the process of installing and making sure that everything is set up properly. I have encountered a couple of set up questions in the process and joined the forum for others to share their experiences and to learn what works best when setting up, updating and troubleshooting. I'm excited to learn more about the hosting, plug-ins, designing a survey and performance as well, and hope when I have experience I can help others with their questions too. Thank you for hosting me in the community. Look forward to participating in the discussions here and excited to be here!

Hi Hellen,

Welcome to the Limesurvey Community Forum!

I think this is a first. Never have I seem a formal introduction of any new member in the forum. But I like it!

The forum lives of the participation of the community. So even with little experience, if you feel you can answer a question, don't shy away just because some other forum members have more experience.

And feel free to ask questions that can't be answered with the manual.

I highly recommend to have at least a read through of the manual pages regarding the question types. This will already answer a lot of questions and you will know what is possible with Limesurvey out of the box. Because sometimes a certain question type is hidden within another question type. So it makes sense to take the 30-60min that it will take to go through all the question types. It helped me a lot at the beginning to understand how to use Limesurvey.

And the next thing is probably read through the manual regarding Expression Manager/Script. It will give you a lot of tools to expand your questionnaires.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
