I created a survey on my system. Lost my administrative password. When I try to reset it asks for the original ID which I can't find. Is there a way to reset the password from the file system or database.
A way to do this requires database access.
Create a new user with a known password.
Copy the hashed (=encrypted) password of that user to your administrator in the database (database 1).
If you cannot create a new user, you may have to do this on another LimeSurvey instance (with database 2). And then copy the password string from the just created user from database 2 to database 1
That is the way I would do it. And did earlier.
