Problem upgrading to 6.15.4 was created by franz007
LimeSurvey version: 6.15.3
Own server
==================
Upgrading to 6.15.4 "fails" with the message

CException
Application runtime path "xxxxxxxxx/application/runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process.

I can't seem to find the runtime directory under application in any previuos version.
As usual, I followed the instructions as stated in  www.limesurvey.org/manual/Upgrading_from...ous_version/enShould we create the "new" runtime directory or is this an issue with the new version?
Regards
Francesco

Upgrading_from_a_previous_version/enShould we create the "new" runtime directory or is this an issue with the new version?
That looks like an issue which should be reported via bugs.limesurvey.org . How did you get the 6.15.4? Via Comfortupdate?
I recommend to stay on 6.15.3.

No ComfortUpdate
I regularly check the page

I'll file a bug

Just to inform that the problem was probably a permissions issue with the tmp/runtime and not the application/runtime directory which doesn't exist

Still wondering how that error message "path "xxxxxxxxx/application/runtime" is not valid." does come from.
Error in an error message is always fun ;-)

I also can't upgrade to 6.15.4 using Comfort Update. All checks are fine. What could I try? It's stuck at 4.

No error message, just saying system is misconfigured. Worked for years before.

Partition is not full, file and directory permissions look all good.

No need to post more than once. Posts from new forum members need to be approved first (we had massive spam attacks from bots before, so unfortunately this was necessary). I deleted your second post that was also waiting for approval.

As you are a paying customer of Limesurvey GmbH, I recommend to open a support ticket directly with them. Comfort Update is provided by the Limesurvey GmbH and we helpers in the forum have very little insights into this.

What means "It's stuck at 4"? Step 4?

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
