Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: LimeSurvey Community Edition
Version 3.27.6+210629
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: Site Ground Cloud Hosting
Survey theme/template:
==================
I've recently been told by our cloud server providers (siteground.com) that their My SQL database, that our current LimeSurvey configuration sits on, is about to be updated to My SQL 8. Should I be concerned about this? Could there be any likely issues?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Stephen

Hello,

You are using a LimeSurvey version which is no longer supporter and maybe also a security risk. It has not been officially tested with that MySQL version, so it might work or not.

Your best bet would be to update to the latest LimeSurvey version, then you should be in the clear.

Best regards

I second Carsten's recommendation.

Not only is the branch of Limesurvey (LS3) that you are running EOL for a while now, you are also not even on the latest version of it.

Your installation hasn't received any updates, bug fixes or security patches for since at least 29/06/2021, which is almost 3 years now.

So it is highly recommendable to upgrade to LS6, as LS5 is EOL since the first of June as well.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
