Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: 6.5.6-240506 with postgresql 15.5 on Debian 12.5
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: own server
Survey theme/template: I have no idea.
==================
Hi,

I'm trying to install limesurvey for the first time and get the following error in the installation routine:

Database configuration
Please enter the database settings you want to use for LimeSurvey
Please fix the following input errors:
  • There were errors when trying to populate the database:
  • CDbCommand failed to execute the SQL statement: SQLSTATE[42501]: Insufficient privilege: 7 ERROR: permission denied for schema public LINE 1: CREATE TABLE "lime_answers" ( ^
Any idea what is going wrong?
Is it better to use MariaSQL instead of PostgreSQL?

Thank you!

Installed mariadb-server for now and it works flawlessly.
While I prefer PostgreSQL over MariaDB, it is a good enough solution.
