Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version: LimeSurvey Community Edition Version 6.4.1+240108
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: On Prem
Survey theme/template: Default
==================
After updating to the stated version, when checking on the a suvery > Survey Participants link, the screen is grayed out / disabled
and does not respond anymore. I updated the php memory_limit to 4GB on the server and still getting the same result. is there
a configuration I need to update to be able to load the suvey participants page?

Try to clean the asset cache and see what happens.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

Cleared the own browser cache as well (or accessed via a different computer)? Just to get this out of the way.

Also, how did you upgrade? Manually or via Comfort Update?

Manually it often happens that not all files are copied (e.g. via FTP).

Also, there is already a 6.4.1. You might want to make another update and see what happens, before diving further into potential issues.

Is this issue happening with all surveys or just with a specific one?

If with a specific one: How man participants are we talking about? If you have a huge list of participants, the script might time out. Just a rough guess here. Never had that issue before.

I updated to 6.4.1 and still getting the same result

I have updated the config-default.php max_execution_time to 3000.

UPDATE:

looking in the network I saw that I got a response this time with 500 status

Undefined variable $editorEnabled (<web server>\application\views\surveyAdministration\partial\topbar\surveyTopbarRight_view.php:149)

I was able to debug the code. when loading the specific survey, I can see both $editorEnabled and $editorUrl variables are initialized.
When I try to access the Survey Participants, the values are showing uninitialized.

Exactly the same problem here with LimeSurvey CE v 6.4.3, with Apache/2.4.57 (Win64) OpenSSL/3.1.1 PHP/8.2.7.
Could this be related to some PHP setting?

Currently : we have issue with php8.2 AND debug set.
If you set debug = 0 it must work.

Else : best is to report issue

Set debug=0 is not really a workaround. It must be the way to do in production
