Internal database authentication method is not allowed for this user was created by aukevann
Please help us help you and fill where relevant:
Your LimeSurvey version:  Version 3.15.5+181115
Own server or LimeSurvey hosting: own hosting
Survey theme/template: custom template

One of the admins on our system can't login anymore and gets the error message "Internal database authentication method is not allowed for this user".
Changing the password does not help. 
What can be wrong here?

Do you have "Use internal database authentication" enabled in that users global permissions?

Hi Tony, no I have not.
Also, nothing changed in the settings and this problem just ocured for this account.

In my experience, that must be enabled.

(but I am not an authentication expert)

I confirm,
Maybe not an expert but have already setup  SAML, LDAP and CAS authentication
Assistance on LimeSurvey forum and LimeSurvey core development are on my free time.
I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH member, professional service on demand , plugin development .
