Login to LimeSurvey service fails and redirects back to login page after entering the correct credentials. There were no updates to the configuration or the service. However, yum update was executed to install a plugin to satisfy some dependency.
What do you mean for LimeSurvey service ?
You have a limesurvey setup on a server instance on a centos ?
Then : what server instance ? apache ? nginx ? PHP version etc …
Maybe a session issue, but since you give no information …

You are right. LimeSurvey instance is on a server instance on CentOS. It is nginx instance.
PhP version is as follows:

As soon as I ran 'yum update' on the server, login failed even with the right credentials and throws back the login form again.
Maybe a session directory issue.
Hard to tell since it's more a server issue than a LS issue
