Hi,
I can access to Limesurvey with the account my university provided to me. But it directs me to limesurvey webpage with version 2.58. I want to upgrade it to 3.x to use some features about themes.
When I google it, it always suggests me using Comfortupdate, however, on the configuration part I do not have that option. what should I do to upgrade my Limesurvey?
I am super new to the Limesurvey and do not have a deep understanding of it, unfortunately.
You can not update a Limesurvey installation that you are not the super admin for. As you mention that this is provided by your university, there is no chance that you can upgrade to 3.x.
But you should talk to the responsible department at your university. They are running a version of Limesurvey that is over 4 years old and thus hasn't received any update or bug fix for the same time.

Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
