Missing ctype extension

Missing ctype extension was created by limesurvey.labs
I am trying to install LimeSurvey CE on a shared hosting service. It seems that their PHP configuration does not include ctype:

You're missing default PHP extension ctype

Is there anything that I can do? I don't seem to see an option on their site to install it.
