Session variable is writable, yet the installer refuses to recognize it is was created by mmohsen
Hi
I'm trying to install the latest stable version of LimeSurvey, but the installer refuses to pass the requirement check. It complaints about the session.save_path. I checked the designated folder and fount that it's fully writable (777 permission), and tried to touch some files without a problem
My server is a linux VPS running Apache
What can I do to solve that?

It's possible it's not writable even if 777 :
1. www.php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.open-basedir
2. wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/SELinux/apache

Thanks @DenisChenu
I tried turining off open_basedir completely, yet the same errror persists. I'm not sure what specifically to look at in the second link
Your (and everyone's) advice is appreciated

Check you apache error log : i think you have more detail.
For selinux : check if it's activated (via command line) : $ `sestatus`
Dsiable : # `setenforce 0` as root.
