we are currently at version 3.22.23+200626 and trying to use Comfort Update to update to 3.24.5 (201104). We never had issues using ComfortUpdate in the past, so this is the first time for us.


The pre-installation check runs fine, we can also view the change log, but as soon as we press "continue" we receive the error message: Server error! An error occured while creating your update package file. Please contact the LimeSurvey team.

Any idea what went wrong?

This could be anything. A connection error on your side, a problem with the update server, etc.

So either you wait a little bit and see if it works later (the server might be busy with serving comfort updates to others).

As you are a paying customer of Limesurvey GmbH you can open a support ticket with them through your account.

The forum is mostly run by volunteers and we have no insights into the Limesurvey hosting.

I am having issues with Comfort Update as well.

I wait almost an hour for it to go through the update etc and then I get this message after the download the backup files stage

Download error! ComfortUpdate could not download the update!

Probably some issues with the update server at the moment. If it is not urgent to update, wait a couple of hours.

Or, as you are a paying client for the comfort update, you can create a support ticket with Limesurvey GmbH. Waiting for an answer here in the forum that is mostly run by volunteers might not be the best idea, as we volunteers do have no connection with the Limesurvey GmbH and no insights on what is going on on their servers.

You might be lucky with cdorin being in this thread and getting the notification, but I guess you'll get a quicker solution by opening a support ticket.

Yes, but this is part of the paid service provided by Limesurvey GmbH, so we volunteers have no insights into that (by the way, there is actually an own forum section dedicated to the comfort update).

Not sure why you wouldn't open a support ticket with the Limesurvey GmbH instead... ?
