Hi

Let's suppose I create an Array Question with 10 subquestions and 4 possible answers (1=not at all, 2=a little, 3=moderately, 4=a lot). I want to set two different scores from this question: the first would be the sum of the 5 first subquestions' answers and the second would be the sum of the others 5 subquestions' answers. I know that I can create equation questions in order to do that, but I don't know which formula to use. Can someone help me?

Furthermore, let's suppose I want to display, at the end of the questionnaire, these two final scores with a specific recommendation based on the score that each participant had. I mean, let's suppose we have a cutting point and that I wanted to display two types of recommendations: one for the participants who scored upper than this cutting point, and the other for participants who scored lower. Is this possible?

Thanks

Please refer to the manual section for Expression Script.

And to elaborate a little bit on Tpartners perfect answer:

I know that I can create equation questions in order to do that, but I don't know which formula to use.

You need to sum the subquestions with something like this:
Code:
{sum(SQ001,SQ002,SQ003,...)}

For the second part: if the text is short, you could just use an expression within a text display question.

If the recommendation text is longer or needs some nice formatting I would create different text display questions for the different recommendations and show/hide them via relevance equation.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
