Emails are not being sent was created by jorge_ici
Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right folder to make this question, but since yesterday LimeSurvey (LS) stopped sending emails to the surveys' participants (as well as to the LS administrators). Interestingly, LS don't show any error message, but only the usual message "all emails were sent".

Today, I had to distribute an exam, and I had to send the private access codes to each student individually. They did the exams, but they didn't receive the confirmation email, and I didn't receive the responses (as well as the evaluations, that are programmed to show at both types of emails).

I'm wondering on what may happened, and I'm trying to solve this issue for about three hours, hence, any help, please, would be highly appreciated.

I'm using LS version 4.2.7+, and the email configuration method is PHP.

Many thanks,
JR

Well, you obviously updated within the last three days.

From which version?

And did you check if the email status is set to "OK" in the participants table?
That was a small issue in the first releases of 4.x.

Sorry, in case of a not set email status you would have got an error.

That was a small issue in the first releases of 4.x.

According to update logs this is fixed.

Many thanks Joffm,

Yes, the email status is set to "OK". I don't recall which was the anterior version, as the update is automatic (with Softaculous, from the cPanel).

Anyhow, I dug some more. I have a second installation of LS, which is not updated automatically, and is functioning with version 3.16.1+190314. At this platform happened the same: LS stopped sending emails to the surveys' participants (as well as to the LS administrators). All other functions are operational (as they also are at the automatically updated installation of LS).

I'm wondering now if this may be something related with my website configuration. But, the changes I made lately were merely on styling (i.e., colors, and boxes).

I suspect your hosting service changed or updated something. I would contact their support.

Many thanks Tony Partner,

Indeed, meanwhile, I recall I uninstalled (about one week ago) a page cache plugin (with other options) that was slowing (instead of speeding) my website access. I installed another plugin (inside Wordpress) and the emails are back.

I'm not sure if this (cache) was really the issue. Perhaps is a coincidence. Anyhow, the problem is solved. Many thanks.
