Query: browser *cache clearing* after update was created by r0bis
I wonder what the importance is for clearing browser cache after a comfort update?
It is becoming inconvenient, because in later editions of Chrome or Firefox it clears various other site data - like saved logins, etc. There used to be time when I could choose just my lime domain, but now it seems impossible. As a result I end up not clearing browser cache and usually it works fine after a little while.
Maybe it is not so important? If it is - what exactly must be cleared from cache and why? Any help to answer this would be much appreciated.
At the moment I am trying to get my organisation to use LimeSurvey for a wide range of purposes and so it may be installed on a separate server and administered by IT people - so I need to know these kinds of things.

I don't see the need to completely clear the browser cache. You should simply be able to load a fresh version of the page - Ctrl+F5.

I would task them with figuring it out. They are, well, IT.At the moment I am trying to get my organisation to use LimeSurvey for a wide range of purposes and so it may be installed on a separate server and administered by IT people - so I need to know these kinds of things.

Thanks, Tony,
This is very helpful and clear - as all your other pointers that I have come across. What you said about IT should be right, but the trouble is - that is IT in the NHS. Getting people to do something that is remotely innovative can be very difficult - so one needs to be optimistic, reassuring and provide most answers.
