after several weeks of absence i just had a closer look at the limesurvey-installation.


What i encountered: i cannot log me in!?


question: How to do a reset of the user-/ pass combination !?


BTW: it seems to not work - to restore the dataset via sending this to a e-mail-adress.

hi there - after trying to find out what goes wrong i have seen that i am absolutly not albe to go behind the login screen - everything fails..

. in the meanwhile i started to create a new installation with the new versioin 4.18

session.save_path: red sign
PHP GD library okay
PHP LDAP library red sign
PHP zip library red sign
PHP imap library red sign
PHP Sodium library [data encryption] red sign

and very very important - the server went through a complete upgrade of php - (from 5.4xy to 7.28)

question: could it be rootet in the upgrade and the overhaul of the system!?

in other words - i guess that the issues that i have described in the threadstart - is rootet in the issues with the session - that i have also encountered while starting a installation of a fresh version of limesurvey.?!

Yes , sure for 100%

No session => no login

An session.save_path not writable => No session.

i all ways thought that this code tests if we can write into the php variable $_SESSION or - if we cannot do that

- and i allways thought that this is read only

Not writable => no session

It must be out of web access, /tmp/session for example.

If web user can not write in session directory : how you can seve session.
