It's because < and > are reserved in HTML : best solution use &lt; and &gt; :

as you see in the third screenshot of your first post

• the ">" was automatically changed to "&gt;"
• the "<" was treated as html tag and all was replaced by the answer code
• and you saw that "&lt;" or "&gt;" are treated as plain text.

Well, until now the statistic modul is very raw and basic. Only useful for the admin to get a quick overview how the survey is running. Using it this way you can get over it.

Nevertheless this has to be fixed.

IMO you should just change your wording.
<10000 -> less than 10000
>50000 -> more than 50000

By the way:
There is an error in your answer options
A3: 30000-49999
A4: >50000
And what is exactly 50000?
So this should be changed to "50000 and more" or "50000 +"
