Loading error in limesurvey page

Good Day,

Can you please help us to resolve the issue the appears when we tried to login to limesurvey

We used the download resource form this URL www.limesurvey.org/stable-release


Version: edition license


Error message


This page is not working

IP: XXXXXXX redirected you to many times

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

Ok, so did you download the CE release?

Where/how do you get that error?

If you still receive that issue, check if you're still logged on (PersonLogo/Username shown in the menu).
Try to login via www.limesurvey.org/login and then try to reach the download section.
If you still got issues, try again with a different browser.

@Jelo: I don't think the problem is with the Limesurvey Website, but with their installation.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

Fine, then the checklist is different ;-)

If Limesurvey is installed in a subdirectory, check for htaccess files in the root directory.
Migh case a redirection loop.

I downloaded from the URL www.limesurvey.org/about-limesurvey/download CE Release

I received the error when type the IP web server in URL, although i tried with different browsers but it the same. Thank you

Please ask your webserver administrator. This sounds more like webserver issue that a LimeSurvey issue. If it is a bug of LimeSurvey you would need to provide information about PHP version and webserver setup. So you would still need to consult your webserver administrator.

here is the versions of software that installed in webserver

PHP: 7.2
Httpd: apache 2
Mysql: 5.4

Do you recommend a specific version ?

Had same issue when previewing the survey.
Problem occurred on various browsers.

I noticed that I had previously initialised participant table.
I then deleted the participant table and the issue stopped.
I could then preview the survey without problems.
