Upgrade LimeSurvey 2.00+ was created by CTrujillo
I recently inherited an Ubuntu server running Limesurvey 2.00+ Build 131022. I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading it to the latest version while still maintaining all current data. Here are the server specifications:
I also want to point out that the server is also hosting data and web services for GLPI, so it's important not to break this during the upgrade process.
I see my options as either upgrading the current environment, or migrating all data to a new isolated server and upgrading LimeSurvey on the new server.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
- LimeSurvey version: 2.00+ build 131022
- PHP 7.0.28-1+ubuntu14.04.1+deb.sury.org+1 (cli) (built: Mar 6 2018 11:05:05) ( NTS )
- MySQL: Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.58, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.3
- Apache2 version: 2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
- Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS

Hi, CTrujillo,
you see, your LS version is nearly 5 years old.
So I'd advise:
Archive surveys, do a complete new installation of the actual LS version, and import your surveys.
I am absolutely sure that with an upgrade you will run into problems.
Best regards
Joffm

Hello Joffm,
Thanks for your response! I had a feeling that would probably be the safest and cleanest option.
Do you know if it's possible to import our token data for each survey? I need to make sure that we retain that information as well.

Hi,
you know that it is possible.
I think you always import a token table when creating a new survey.
And - I think - you can export a token table in 2.0?
So just export and import.
I successfully tried with an export from 2.06 and import in 3.7.1

The .lsa export should include token data -

That's why I said "Archive the surveys".
But because of the question about tokens I got confused.
