Just had another look and there is such a feature (you always learn something new about LS):
However, it might depend on the question type. What question type are you using? My example comes from a list radio and I am using Version 2.73.0+171219.

Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

What is really strange is that the different Subcategories of the advanced settings like "Display", etc. are in a different order and also the different items in those subcategories don't follow the same order as in my version... *confused*
In Display I have 3 of those on-off buttons, but you only have 2. Seems like the ones that are there are the ones that are supposed to "hide" stuff and the alphabetical order is missing.
If your questions is also a list radio type question, first try to update to the latest version (the one I am running) and see if it is resolved.
Then you can think about a bug report. But I am not sure if 2.7x will still receive bug fixes, because the bug report also only offers 3.x as version to choose from.

i've use it in a previuos survey, and if i copy that the order is alphabetically sorted, so the option is still flagged somewhere, but i can't choose that anymore !
And yes, i can see the option in a single question (the previous stamp is about a multiple question)...
soooo i have to compile a bug request that no one are gonna fix
I can confirm that the sort alphabetically is not there in the multiple answer question.
I don't think it make sense to create a bug report now for 2.7x. Either move on to 3.x and see if it works there (if not create a bug report) or use my solution: Sort it in Excel, copy the whole list into the quick add feature. Not too much work either.

nah, not much, but we have a survey in field, with the visual option i was able to change the order without stopping that...
now i suppose i have to finish the data collection with this order (the request is arrived after we send all the invitation, when they aske me if the change was possibile i say yes - now i have to explain why the option is suddenly missing ehehehhe)
Well, that is a bummer if it is in field and live already. However, it is risky to change the order anyway if people already responded. The order can have an impact on results.
