One of my survey admins lost all his details. I know I can manually reset his password and communciate that to him, but is there a way to do that more robustly like resetting his account or resending his details?
If the installation has email setup correctly, you can always ask to resend your password.
Now if he/she also does not know his/her user name, then you have a problem.
But when you say "survey admins", you are not talking about a super admin?
In this case the super admin can change the password and send a new one. You just need to go into the user administration, search for his/her user
"Configuration" --> "Users - Manage survey administrators" --> Search for the username or email that is registered --> Click on the little pencil symbol in the front "Edit this user".
You can change the password there.
