The transportencryption is done by the webserver. You can set LimeSurvey to allow https only. The other stuff is not done by LimeSurvey.

What do you mean by "should I require recipient to logon"? What kind of results? I am not aware of a download of survey results without a login.

I'm thinking an encrypted email from the server might be problematic, so would it be most advisable to have an end user download survey results instead?

What do you see as the end-user? The respondent, who fills out one survey? Or the creator of the survey?

I've only seen the survey as admin, it is not yet active.
