We want to make a survey that is filled out by interviewers who make home visits. The survey would have to be installed on tablets, and the data have to be synchronized in a central database afterwards. Is this possible with lime survey? How does it work?
At the moment there is no such solution, at least not out of the box.
However, have a look in the forum, Mazi mentioned that there will be a solution released soon.
One option is to install a webserver on the tablet (there are apps like Androphp I think it is called) and you can install a full Limesurvey on the tablet. I have done this for testing already and it works. Not tested it thoroughly though.

Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

There is a new Limesurvey Android app called "OfflineSurveys" which allows using any Limesurvey survey offline:
