I am new to LimeSurvey, but am liking what I see so far very much.
I have an issue with my installation. Install went fine, and I created a test survey with no problem, but I was amazed at how slow pages were to load on my default browser, Chrome. I was getting a lot of "unresponsive page" notifications.
To debug this I tried a different browser and was able to narrow down the problem to scripts. With Firefox and the NoScript extension blocking the LimeSurvey pages' scripts, the pages load fine. With the extension permitting them, I get the same slow page loading times that I get with Chrome.
The problem is not associated with a survey, it happens in the admin pages and on the entry splash page.
Any suggestions for what I am doing wrong, for the scripts to cause a problem like this? I tried both 2.05 and 2.06. I am happy to provide detailed information, let me know what is needed.
Chrome was often throwing up an "unresponsive page" pop-up with a kill or wait option. I would say a minimum loading time of a few seconds when it was acting up. Clicking stop and reload would sometimes shake it loose.
Unfortunately, it seems to be somewhat intermittent. I just looked over the 2.06 install and it loaded quickly (<1 sec per page). I sent another person to that site and he had a lot of problems initially, then it worked OK.
Here is the splash page for a 2.05 install:
www.voterchoices.org/
, it look >5 seconds to load just now. No surveys there yet.
Sounds more like a server issue to me. There is usually only a couple of bigger JS files, and on the first load it might take 1-2 seconds but anything taking more time than that is usually to blame on the server, as I cannot reproduce it with our installation. The first load of that mentioned URL took 2 secs for me.

At the moment the pages are loading well. When the problem recurs I will look into the server configuration and report back if I conclude anything useful.
This could also be related to larger images being embedded at certain survey pages. Some people even upload a 2048x1024px logo file and display it using 256x128px size.
