What feature is unique to Limesurvey? What feature is missing the most? And what other tools do you use?
Name only one feature!

Unique: Community (Sorry, no technical features I know seems to be unique to Limesurvey)
Most Missing: List building (use answers as a list, where items can be removed, randomized, added, manipulated like Arrays in programming languages)
Other tools: Sawtooth Software, Toolbook

* yes, this community, which has helped me out several times.
* But also: flexibility for developers (although I cannot compare very well, since LimeSurvey is the only platform that I use with this intensity)
* Price

Missing:
* reporting capacities (could there be a deal with another good open source reporting tool?)
* solid integration with R
* good user administration (backend users)

UNIQUE:
- EM engine

MISSING:
- Some classification for survey (surveylist level)
- XML file generation with submitted responses to a questionnaire, readable by an external (authorized) application

OTHER:
- NO monkey farming

NO, in plugin.

Because question attribute bis really complex and have more option than really needed.

Not Unique to LimeSUrvey but most important:
- GPL : free like a speech.

My little list with multiple items per line to ceate the impression it complies with the one-feature-rule-only of jelo:

• Unique feature: GPL (hear, hear), Expression Manager & community
• Missing: creating graphs using EM & reporting tools
• Other tools used: PSPP, R, some GNU/Linux distro

Limesurvey supports R export, it can be enabled at the Plugin settings.

To my knowledge that should work pretty well, or did you already use it and miss certain features?

What are you talking about? Grouping surveys at the survey list into sections like "Customer Feedback Surveys", "360° Surveys", "Test Surveys"?

Denis has recently coded a plugin to mark surveys as a kind of "master survey" which allows to create copies from. Only users with special rights are allowed to edit such "master surveys"/drafts.

Mark surveys as "Survey Model/Template" : Allow admins to mark a survey as "Survey Model", a kind of "master survey" or "survey template" which only users with appropriate rights are allowed to edit. The common user is only allowed to create copies based on such a survey template.

Yes that's what I mean... Requiere a way to define & set categiories for surveys. Some (admin) users may be interested by survey types, other by departments, other by courses etc.

I agree with Ben. I have an installation, where I try to save good solutions that I find on the forum or that I developed myself, so I don't have so search each time in the forum (often solutions get lost as well).

However, I try to have one survey per "problem" and it is getting quite complicated. At the moment I put codes in the sample like [sample], [playground], etc. so that I have a certain overview. But it would be great if we could have "folders". Because most of the time I don't need to see those sample and playground surveys. I will have a look at Denis' plugin, if this helps in any way.
