==================Hello LimeSurvey community,I am pleased to announce the release of AllySurvey V2.85, a new version of our accessible theme developed at the University of Lille – Digital Department / DAWAM.AllySurvey aims to provide a more accessible, inclusive and comfortable survey experience for respondents, while remaining easy to deploy and customize for LimeSurvey administrators and survey designers.Main featuresAllySurvey V2.85 includes:
  • compatibility with LimeSurvey 6.3+ and LimeSurvey 7;
  • a fully standalone theme, without requiring a parent theme;
  • improved keyboard navigation and visible focus management;
  • better support for screen readers and assistive technologies;
  • clearer error messages and accessibility announcements;
  • improved behaviour at 200% zoom and in responsive/reflow mode;
  • better handling of mandatory questions, conditional questions, matrices and complex question types;
  • an accessibility toolbar with options for:
    • text size;
    • contrast;
    • text spacing;
    • greyscale display;
    • dyslexia-friendly reading;
    • resetting accessibility preferences;
  • integration of accessible fonts such as Luciole and OpenDyslexic;
  • several customizable and persistent colour palettes;
  • optional accessibility diagnostic and developer tools, disabled by default.
The theme has been designed according to good practices from RGAA 4.1 and WCAG 2.1 A/AA. However, using an accessible theme does not automatically make every survey fully compliant. Final accessibility also depends on the survey content, question types, wording, media and configuration. A manual accessibility review therefore remains necessary.Recommended testsBefore deploying the theme in production, we recommend testing it with:
  • keyboard-only navigation;
  • a screen reader;
  • mobile devices;
  • 200% zoom;
  • high-contrast settings;
  • matrix and ranking questions;
  • conditional and mandatory questions.
