Git tags and releases seem out of sync at Github

Hi,

I noticed that whenever someone commits a new release (for example, 6.15.10+250901: github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/commit/...e9a5cbe605f47064229b )

... the corresponding 'tag' that is made at exactly the same timestamp at github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/tags , is the preceding release (6.15.9+250826 github.com/LimeSurvey/LimeSurvey/releases/tag/6.15.9%2B250826 )

In other words, the 'tagged' releases are always one release behind what you just committed to master branch.

Is this expected? If not, can it be fixed so that the 'tagged' releases are caught up with the official release being made?

I am not a developer, just a user, so I can't tell if this is a bug or a feature. But what I can tell is that it isn't very common that any of the lead developers, especially those that would be responsible for Github come to the forum. At the most, Denis shows up here, but he is not part of Limesurvey GmbH.

I think the best is to open a bug report (bugs.limesurvey.org) and see what they say.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
Note: I answer at this forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.
