I've searched the forums and documentation and cannot find a simple example or explanation on how to interact with custom mysql commands to the backend database tables.
For example, something as simple as setting a value on a field in a mysql database or similar I come up empty-handed.
I have read some examples of users creating custom scripts, which is great, but there is no mention of *where* to place these scripts within the limesurvey interface or the systematic workflow of these scripts - they are usually just dumped as a script as a response to the user without mention of where to place them.
A simple, basic tutorial on how to create custom scripts that interact in a simple way with Limesurvey would be great and be a good starting point for users who need to set and manipulate custom values.
Since it's above my pay grade to understand such programming what kind of programmer am I looking for who can both understand these methods while also being able to implement something specific to limesurvey?
I have interacted with MySql from Limesurvey in the past ... what I have done is to use a PHP script as a middle layer to interact with the database and return the results to the survey.
