The old version (v1.9) of limesurvey had spell-check option in the survey creation input forms. But, I could not find the spell-check option in latest version. Also, unable to find the code-part where I can make the spell-check true
I assume that you used some kind of browser plugin or funcionallity, that might not work with the newer versions anymore. But as Carsten said, I don't think there has ever been a spell checker built into Limesurvey.

Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).

Firefox have a spell check system included , like a lot of browser. But i think it was deactivated due to the HTML editor ?
Strangely included system work with osTicket HTML editor.
Assistance on LimeSurvey forum and LimeSurvey core development are on my free time.
