I want to build a plugin for limesurvey wich bulk send SMS to a survey's participants. Don't know how to start.
My aim is to build specifics menus for it like "send email" menus, to send SMS to participants of a survey.

I want to build an open source solution, and make it flexible enough to enable adding some third party SMS sending API or service (like Twilio)

We use Messagebird and invite our users using SMS:
www.messagebird.com/en-gb/?switch=1

Each user gets a token-email: either "normal" email address, or SMS-email address. Easy.

I developed a Plugin to send SMS Invitations to mobiles found here ( github.com/MZeit/SendSMSInvites ) if anyone wants to use it. Some changes might be necessary to adapt to SMS Gateway of your choice.
