From the bug tracker I see Denis is working hard on a branch 3.0. When can we expect this to be released? Will it be an option from ComfortUpdate?

yes, it should be available soon, and available with comfortUpdate.
But first, we'll do a beta release so people can test it .

Have a look at the download page, 3.0.0-RC.1 (release candidate) has just been released!

Yes, thank you, I have.
I don't know how many days it takes to get a release candidate out, so I wanted to know if there is a stable release date estimation.
