I am currently doing a "ranking" sort of question. However besides the answer options I provide, I would like add a "Others (please specify") option as well. Meaning, if the options I provide does not represent the participant's answer, they get to type in their answer AND include it together with the rest of the ranking options provided.
I know this is a little tricky so anyone have any solution?
Thanks for using your free time to help out. greatly appreciated..
2) Place a short-text question after the ranking question - "Please specify."
3) Apply conditions (with scenarios) to the short-text so it is only shown if:
[RANK 1] equals Other
OR
[RANK 2] equals Other
OR
[RANK 3] equals Other
OR
[RANK 4] equals Other
OR
...

I have tired out your wonderful suggestion but for some reasons the conditions appear to not respond.
1. I have applied condition (i.e. Rank 1 equal Other; AND Rank 2 equal Other etc)
2. When i go to the page, although the "Other - please specify" short text does not appear, it still does not show up when I put it in one of the ranking options..
3. I tried a couple of times, magically the condition worked ONCE before, but when i restart the survey, it does not appear again.
4. What should I do? Could this issue due to the difference between "Rank 1 equals Others OR Rank 2 equal others" and "Rank 1 equals Others AND Rank 2 equal others" If so what should i do?
Thank you for the link. I have read it but find it challenging to understand. The help manual does not explicitly state a step by step procedure/example to guide readers on how to create a OR condition between different questions. It stated that I need to set up scenario, but the help page did not explained clearly how the "scenario" help in creating an OR condition for different questions. Are there any other materials/video u can refer me too, or help me understand better?
Sorry, I have not encountered this situation before, and not really strong in this aspect. Therefore I would greatly appreciate if u or any limesurvey team can help me out. It would be a great learning experience for me.
Hi! I too am trying to setup up this same type of scenario. I am using LimeSurvey 2.50. It seems it automatically puts in "and" between the condition scenarios but no option to change "and" to "or". Any help would be greatly appreciated. The manual is based on another version so not helping me much. Thanks!
I figured it out! Wanted to share! So when you are adding a new scenario you need to change the "1" number to a "2" etc. and the "And" then changes to a "OR".
