the problem I mentioned happened suddenly after 20 days of normal performance. I was exporting the responses twice per day without any problem. I didnt change anything in the survey or the settings, my brother didnt change anything in the server settings and SUDDENLY one day it doesnt work !!!!
if there was a problem in the installation I wouldnt have been able to export the responses from the very first day, right ?
this is not my case..
it is really strange...
no I didnt do any update/upgrade, and to be honest I would prefer not to try it because the survey is running and it will be running until the end of september and I am afraid of something unexpected...
The URL looks really strange. Is this on a server on the internet or on your local machine? Because there should be something like Localhost if later, or an IP address or domain if on the internet.
I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Hi,
I just would like to share a similar case i have faced twice.
exporting responses to excel used to work fine for these two surveys. but suddenly, clicking the export button stopped responding. i tried to export responses to a .csv file instead, but the exported file size grows up to more than 400 MB eventhough the responses table includes 100 records only.
i have checked the sql profiler to find out that responses table select query has been replicated thousands of time as if it was generated using a loop statement.
the only resolution i found for that issue, is to set the responses table to have number of records less than or greater than 100 !!! sounds weird, but this problem appeared only if number of records in responses table is exactly 100.
