What Problem Does This Solve?
LimeSurvey 6.x removed the
Copy tab from the "Create New Survey" page. Survey copying is now only available via a small modal dialog triggered from the survey list. This is a step backwards for usability:
- The Copy tab is gone. The "Create New Survey" page used to have a dedicated Copy tab alongside the Create tab, giving users a full-page form with a survey selector, checkboxes for what to include, and a custom survey ID field. The upstream removal forces users to navigate to the survey list, find the survey, and use a compact modal instead.
- The copy modal defaults are wrong (IMHO). The modal leaves important options unchecked by default (quotas, permissions, conditions, and reset response start ID). In practice, most users want all of these included when copying a survey. Having to manually tick four checkboxes every time is error-prone.
- You cannot set a custom title when copying. Both the old Copy tab and the current modal hardcode the copied survey's title to
ORIGINAL TITLE - COPY There is no way to specify a meaningful title at copy time, so you always have to copy the survey and then go edit the title manually.
This patch set restores the Copy tab, fixes the modal defaults, and adds a custom title field to both the Copy tab and the modal, with full backend support.

Note: You must rerun the patcher after every update, or until such time that Limesurvey decide to reinstate the functionality.
