Hi there,

I'm currently completing a Master's Degree in Psychology... and I cannot randomize 3 texts display for my memoire's survey. ^^'
I've been trying for 2 days and I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.

If someone could give me a insight please?

Thank you so much.
Cheers from Paris.

Hi, Marie,

both screenshots look fine and correct.

So, there seems to be something else.

You'd better provide the lss export of this part of your survey.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for answering so fast.
I'm also a bit disappointed because I can't understand what's wrong.
Here's the export. :)

If you use the source code editor you see that there is some HTML in the equation.

Remove it and it is fine.
Unfortunately you do not see this if in the WYSIWYG editor.

I think the issue is quite simple: You are using the WYSIWYG editor for creating the questions.

I have this editor switched off and see this:
{if(is_empty(G01Q23), rand(1, 3), G01Q23)}<br />
So there is this <br/> tag at the end, which forced a line break.

And the worst part: it makes the formula a normal text string.

So what is in the equation is either "1<br/>" or "2<br/>" or "3<br/>", but you create conditions for 1, 2 or 3. So these conditions are never met.

Once I deleted the <br/> the text seem to be shown as expected.

So never use the editor for equation questions. I personally have it switched off for everything, just with the option to open it if necessary.

 • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
 • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
