Well I’m not aware that it is an issue. Is it? Or is this by design?Report the issue ?

You do it as carefully as possible.Well, my meaning was is it an issue of Limesurvey or an issue with me not understanding how it works. Reporting a bug because of something I’m doing wrong just doesn’t seem right. But I have reported it now.

WTF ?Thanks. I did get a bug report reply. The reply suggests that most people probably don’t need a larger field on paper. I still think 10 is short. It seems it is designed this way.
So that others know, the solution is to either set the maximum characters for a number that works on paper and online, or to edit the QueXML file “ to be "longtext” for area type questions.
