Hello everyone,

For my survey, I am using the question by question mdoe. I have 4 randomised groups and one hidden group (achieved by setting condition 1==2). Questions in my randomised groups are also randomised.

Now in one of my randomised group, Each question for which after I answered, I would like to get its corresponding follow-up question from the hidden group displayed as the next question. After answered the next question, I want the survey to jump back to another randomised question inside this group.

If this is possible? How can I achieve it?

Not possible. There are no "Jumps" in Limesurvey. You only can hide and show questions and question groups.

But your description is quite confusing. If you could explain it a little better what you are trying to achieve, we might be able to find a solution.

But one thing is clear: the follow up question needs to be straight after the question, otherwise you can't go back to the next question in the randomized group.

So ideally show us a simplified version of what you are trying to do as an LSS export so we can see if there is a solution for what you are trying to do.

To keep the question and the corresponding followup question together you probably need to put them in one question group, but this all depends on your setup. So send an LSS.

As @holch: This your design is not possible.
By the way: You say the follow-up question is in a hidden group. So obviously you cannot display it (it is hidden)

What you can do:
Put the question and the follow-up question into one group.
You said, you have 4 groups with x questions inside each group (and x follow-up questions)
Doing this you get 4 * x groups with two questions.
As you want to randomize the questions all groups get the same "randomization group name"
And at the start you create a random number (1-4) to select the scenario.

0 is sufficient. 0 is the mathematical representation of FALSE, everything else is TRUE


 

So I want to pick questions inside the Mental Effort and Confidence Rating group and display two questions inside a randomised group (e.g. Task1).
Ideally, it could be like T1Q1(Task1 Question1)-> Q1R1( Question1 Rating 1) -> Q1R2, T2Q2->Q2R1->Q2R2, etc.,..
The same for other groups (Task2,3,4).

yes this is your "old" survey, isn't it.
The same confusion as usual about the word "randomized".
I thought you want to show one randomly selected group of your four groups, but you want to show all four in random order.
But where are the "corresponding" questions?

And this your approach you will not be able to do IMHO.
Reason: There is no "group in group". You'd need this.
You'd have to randomize the 4 task groups and inside all the two questions ("normal" and "follow-up") groups.

Better you create a small sample that shows your idea better with only a few questions.
