Surveys getting into junk instead of inbox

More

Our Peer Review application is not correctly sending out surveys.  I have completed a test run with our employee. She has noted the following:
•    Email notification is going to the recipient’s Junk Folder.
•    Recipient cannot access the survey if the email remains in the Junk Folder.  The recipient must move the survey to the In Box and then the survey links work.

Our domain hosting is done through GoDaddy and they mentioned everything is fine on their end.
The employee email from where it is coming is also white listed.

What can be done so that the email notifications do NOT go to the Junk Folder?

Sending mass emails is not an easy tasks, if you want to do it right.

How are these emails being sent?

Generally I would recommend a good, trustworthy SMTP service with a well configured email server.

With the big smtp services you often have the problem of "bad neighborhood". You don't know what our clients of these big email providers are doing with the same or a similar IP address. Often whole ip address blocks are banned if there is a lot of spam activity coming.

But there are so many factors that can cause your emails going into the junk folder. First I would check on your email server, what causes these emails to be flagged as spam. There must be certain rules or spam filter in place, that send the messages into the junk folder. This doesn't happen on its own.

This has actually very little to do with Limesurvey, but with sending emails in general and sending mass emails in specific. So you will need to investigate why these emails are being sent into junk and then how to prevent this.

Help us to help you!
  • Provide your LS version and where it is installed (own server, uni/employer, SaaS hosting, etc.).
  • Always provide a LSS file (not LSQ or LSG).
